Luke 18:35-43 Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar
35 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road. 36 When he heard the noise of a crowd going past, he asked what was happening. 37 They told him that Jesus the Nazarene was going by. 38 So he began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 “Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 When Jesus heard him, he stopped and ordered that the man be brought to him. As the man came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord,” he said, “I want to see!” 42 And Jesus said, “All right, receive your sight! Your faith has healed you.”43 Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus, praising God. And all who saw it praised God, too.
A blind beggar heard the crowd
And asked,”Why is everyone so loud?”
They told him Jesus was coming by.
Then with a shout he began to cry,
“Son of David, have mercy on me!”
“Son of David have mercy on me!”
The crowd’s response was a heart telling.
“Be quiet, shut up and stop your yelling!”
But he continued even louder than before.
Hoping our God would just open a door.
Jesus heard his cry, turned and stopped.
Ordered his presence. The crowd was shocked!
Standing there, Jesus asked,“What’s your plea?”
“Lord”, he replied, “I want to see!”
And Jesus said, “Alright receive your sight.”
Then instantly the man saw the light.
Now seeing which way he should go.
He followed Jesus on down that road.
If he’d not questioned the noise he’d heard.
His blindness would have never been cured.
If he had followed the crowd’s cruel advice,
No hope of sight would there be for his eyes.
Yes, always question this cruel world’s noise.
Because its only intention is to kill and destroy.
Is crowd noise trying to keep you from God?
Beware, crowd noise is a troublesome squad!
It hides in us, in the form of hurt and of pain.
“These never ending trials!” It tells our brain.
Understand these are all lies, as you well know.
Trials only come, because God wants us to grow.
So don’t listen to the noise of the crowd.
Always be humble and don’t be proud.
Never stop seeking and you will find.
The same power that heals the blind.
Make it your life’s goal to reach the end.
Hearing Jesus say, “Welcome home my friend.”
“Welcome home my friend.”
