8/11/25 RLB (1 Cor 7:22-24)
And remember, if you were a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord. And if you were free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ.
God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.
Each of you, dear brothers and sisters, should remain as you were when God first called you.
There he goes again, trying to ruin my life with sin.
Doesn’t he know, I won’t allow this sin to grow?
God’s greatest gift to me, has forever set me free.
Burning my heart like a ember, every time that I remember.
The price on me was high, but God paid the cost.
So I could have this one powerful thought:
“The penalty of death was upon my head,
When God sent Jesus to die instead.”
The Greatest event anyone could ever know,
Reminds me now, this world is not my home.
It’s every thought makes my insides tremor.
Ever time that I remember.
Remember not just the nails and pain.
Remember those who did not remain.
Not just the Apostles who fearfully fled,
As God’s Son was beaten and as He bled.
But remember God, who loved Him so.
Called Him is Son, and yet had to go.
Remember the tears our Father shed,
Turning as the crown pierced His Son’s head.
All this happened for just one reason.
To know God’s “So love” in every season.
Hoping the impact causes worlds to change.
But some in fact still think it strange.
Their heart is hard. They are not tender.
But can change today, if they’d just remember.
So remember now, and don’t ever forget.
On that special day, you did not just get wet.
You were born again. You were made anew.
Sins forgiven, received the Holy Spirit too!
That Spirit of God, in Romans one it’s read,
Is the same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead.
So sin, my death you will never render.
What God has done for me, I will remember.
Remember!
