Sacred Offering
(Exodus 30:11-16 RLB 2/10/24)
What offering will I bring to the Lord?
The whole building or a single board?
Does the offering size matter at all?
Why does the greatest seem so small?
These are some questions I ask myself.
So I pulled my Bible down off that shelf!
The answers are there and can be found.
Some of the answers are so profound!
God does not need an offering at all.
We’ve needed redemption since the fall!
The offering is for us to be reminded.
We are God’s people, His undivided.
Both rich and poor required a ransom,
Not just us plain ones, also the handsome.
God doesn’t discriminate between people.
There’s no laypeople under God’s steeple.
We all need His mercy and forgiveness.
Sinful thoughts make it God’s business.
The rich cannot buy-off God. Just saying.
The poor person cannot avoid the paying,
Our gifts are to help, our heart’s softening.
So let’s give God our best Sacred Offering.
What will I give God as my true…
Scared Offering?
