What Can you Say?
(Matt 20:29-34+Mark 10:45-52+Luke 18:35-42) RLB 9/22/23
“What is happening?” He asked,
Because he clearly heard the crowd.
They said, “Jesus is passing by!”
But his blindness would not allow,
Him to see the Lord Messiah
As he sat there beside the road.
Remembering what he heard of Jesus,
His only hope was, loudly explode!
And began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David,
have mercy, mercy on me!”
The crowd yelled at him, “Be Quiet!”
Troubled by his annoying plea.
But he only shouted louder,
“Son of David, have mercy on me!”
When Jesus heard him, he stopped
And ordered, “Bring the man to me!”
The crowd called the man, “Cheer up!”
They said, “Come on, man he’s calling you!”
Throwing his coat aside, he jumped up
toward Jesus, the crowd, helping him through.
As the man came near, Jesus asked,
“What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord,” he said, “I want to see.
I’ve only heard that the sky is blue.”
And Jesus said, “All right, receive your sight!
Your faith has made you well!”
Instantly, the man could see and
Followed Jesus with quite a story to tell.
All who heard and all who saw
Praised God on that special day.
I once was blind but now I see.
Is that what you can say?
